Everyone knows vertigo. But the opposite of vertigo? Can you be sucked into the sky? What happens when the ground no longer holds on to us, when it abandons us, when our feet can no longer rest there, when the void becomes incessant and infinite? This is the continent explored by Camille Boitel and her team in La Levitation réel.
“Vertigo is what we are constantly looking for while trying to avoid it,” says Camille Boitel, inventor of a theatrical, choreographic and musical circus. Conceived as an impromptu and a diversion of the spectator, La Levitation réel is a short moment of which nothing can be said without revealing the effect of surprise, except that it is a feast for the senses, and that it must be seen to believe him. Passers-by become the public without having done so on purpose. Suddenly, they lose a bit of weight and bearings...
With this new creation, Camille Boitel affirms a little more her capacity – unique in its kind – to take risks. He knows better than anyone how to observe humans resisting the debacle and recovering from falls and imbalances... Because everything is wavering in the world of Camille Boitel. Without special effects, just with a direct address to the body. So since levitating means rising above the ground without any help, let yourself be carried away by surprise.

In the press
Camille Boitel and his associates manage to create a perfect illusion, to give consistency to the incredible, to such an extent that we believe in it, in this incredible event. It's spotlessly clean and tidy.
Toute La Culture - Mathieu Dochtermann
Real levitation summons acrobatics in the service of games of balance and perpetual imbalance for a surreal flight.
