Sincere and funny Jan Martens displays an amazing "solo for himself". A self-portrait in the form of a patchwork where the cheerful or melancholic performer, can’t be locked in any category. Alone in front of his computer, he shows us what can be his choices and doubts. He reveals his way of leaving and envisioning dance, in harmony with his generation.
Trained at the Antwerp Conservatory, Jan Martens has been immersed in a choreographic environment renowned for his impertinence - from Jan Fabre to Wim Vandekeybus. A hyperactive creator, the young Flemish dancer and choreographer is now considered the rising figure of the new Belgian wave. His show is full of humour, energy and humanity.
In partnership with Le Monfort
« Jan Martens and his team create a work that is in full empathy with the world. The spectator is rejuvenated after the show. Jan Martens has an incisive talent. He is definitely a rare bird. » Philippe Noisette, Les Echos
