Filipe Lourenço is opening Paris l'été on the festival's main stage. With his rare generosity, this choreographer is nourished by his training as an Arabo-Andalusian musician, his apprenticeship in traditional dance and his career as a contemporary performer. In his work, he explores and blends all these heritages. In Cheb, two dancers and two musicians create a dialogue between traditional Maghreb music and today's popular tunes, questioning our relationship with memory and community. Performed live on stage by composer François Caffenne and electronic musician and percussionist Nuri, the sound creation conjures up traditional rhythms as well as pop, rock, funk and electro impulses. Alongside them, two extraordinary dancers, Kerem Gelebek and Youness Aboulakoul, embody a continuous pulsation and a sense of geometry, gradually giving rise to an intoxicating trance: a beautiful opening, followed by a rousing DJ set by musician Nuri!
