Museum of the moon

Luke Jerram

DU 3 AU 13 JUILLET - Lycée Jacques Decour

One of the events of the 2018 edition of Paris l'été is back for an experience as astral as ever... For Museum of the moon has lost none of its celestial beauty and offers itself as an invitation to dream and cosmic contemplation. This is the work of artist Luke Jerram, who questions public space by creating large-scale sculptures, installations and performances. In 2016, he embarked on the construction of a seven-meter-diameter moon, an air-filled structure lit from within, with a very high-resolution printout of Nasa images.

Suspended in the main courtyard of the Lycée Jacques Decour, it will fit in perfectly with the usual workings of the site, its timetables and its uses. For the duration of the festival, it will play the role of guide and lucky star. It will shine as brightly during the day as it does at night, so that everyone can come and dream in the moonlight, and be overwhelmed by this breathtaking spectacle!
