"Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends, dear audiences, welcome! This is Molière's story as you've never heard it before!
This is the program Johana Giacardi and her four accomplices, all members of the troupe Les Estivants, invite us to enjoy. These performers, with their communicative vitality, freely re-enact for us, with a creative fantasy full of humor, pieces from the life of the famous playwright. Neither historians nor biographers, they distort, exaggerate, digress and compose in abundance and effusion to create an epic tale, made up of antics and shifts, improbable anachronisms and happy collages. Camped in the center of the Lycée Jacques Decour courtyard, in a tri-frontal set-up that functions as a "small, raw, essential and poor theater", they speak the truth and share with us their pleasure in inventing stories.
It's an enchanting way of bringing to life a little of the tréteaux theater of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, known as Molière.
In the press
In Avignon, Molière's Saga joyfully reinvents tréteaux theater. These girls dare to do anything, and rightly so. Their wacky Molière Saga is a hit.
