Jazz box

Cécile Léna

DU 3 AU 13 JUILLET - Lycée Jacques Decour

Cécile Léna's world seems like a daydream. Building models intuitively, the scenographer gradually invents stories to populate them. She then invites spectators to enter these spaces without actors, and let themselves be lulled, astonished and moved by narratives told in voice-over. Already welcomed at the 2022 edition, she returns to Paris this summer to present a new installation: Jazz Box, a dive into the history of jazz in eight acts, illustrating as many of the great emblematic currents of the genre: New Orleans, swing, bop and hard-bop. Standing in their Box, in the secrecy of the booth, each visitor, headphones on, embarks on an intimate, musical tour. When a track begins, a new model is unveiled, revealing a new universe, delicate and powerful. Cécile Léna's music shakes up our five senses, unsettles our perceptions and reveals our humanity. Bon voyage...
